According to MIIT data, the ID. ERA 8X measures 5,020mm in length, 1,997mm in width, and 1,750mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,970mm. The vehicle adopts a lower, sportier stance with a nearly 1:2 window-to-body ratio, combined with short front and rear overhangs, a 4:1 wheel-to-axle ratio, and a 2.5:1 wheel-to-height ratio — eliminating the bulkiness of traditional SUVs while balancing elegance and athletic tension.

In terms of design language, the ID. ERA 8X continues the family's "bold, pure, and solid" DNA while adding a stronger performance-oriented aesthetic. The dual-crest waistline and full-length sharp shoulder line create a powerful silhouette, complemented by new semi-hidden door handles that enhance aerodynamics and visual simplicity. The rear features the iconic "broad-shoulder" design, paired with flared wheel arches and wing-like spoilers, improving aerodynamic performance while reinforcing a stable visual center of gravity. Large alloy wheels further enhance the flagship SUV presence.
The ID. ERA 8X also features a full-width light strip and signature L-shaped DRLs, significantly improving front-end recognition. Its headlights adopt a new "six-core high-energy" design, with six vertical light units forming a striking, layered lighting expression. The light sequence can illuminate step by step when locking or unlocking the car, enhancing the welcome ritual, interaction experience, and conveying vehicle status through lighting effects.
Under the hood, the ID. ERA 8X is powered by the "Golden Extended-Range System" based on the legendary EA211 engine. It utilizes the Miller cycle and Porsche's VTG variable turbine geometry technology, balancing power output and efficiency while ensuring consistent and reliable performance across various driving conditions. This system has already been validated in the ID. ERA 9X, earning wide recognition for its power response, energy efficiency, and stability under low-battery conditions.
For battery options, the ID. ERA 8X offers two choices: 51.1kWh and 65.2kWh, both delivering exceptional pure electric range. The 51.1kWh version provides a CLTC pure electric range of over 340km and a combined range of over 1,400km. The 65.2kWh version offers a CLTC pure electric range of over 400km and a combined range of over 1,500km, easily handling daily commutes and long-distance travel.

On the chassis front, the ID. ERA 8X is equipped with the Digital Chassis, leveraging Volkswagen's century-old German tuning expertise. With the VMC (Vehicle Motion Control) intelligent chassis brain, it achieves millisecond-level full-scenario dynamic regulation. Hardware includes dual-chamber air suspension and an intelligent preview magic carpet system, which can detect road conditions ahead and proactively adjust suspension settings — effectively filtering out bumps and delivering a smooth, composed ride on city streets, rough suburban roads, and everything in between.
