On the evening of September 7, Xiaomi officially launched four models at its autumn flagship product launch event: the Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Pro, Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Max, Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max, and Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max Explorer Edition.
The four models are priced at RMB 209,900, RMB 239,900, RMB 269,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Official figures show that the Xiaomi Pengcheng series secured more than 10,000 locked orders within four minutes of its launch.
Under Xiaomi’s purchase policy, customers who place a RMB 5,000 deposit for a customized vehicle before 10 p.m. on September 7 can cancel and receive a refund if they fail to lock in their order within three days. Vehicles will be produced according to the order-locking sequence, with customers who complete their order lock within three days receiving priority production.
After an order is locked, customers can still modify their vehicle configuration until midnight on September 10 without affecting the delivery schedule. Xiaomi has also prepared a limited number of vehicles in stock, which can be locked in directly with a RMB 20,000 deposit.
With a starting price of RMB 209,900, the new Xiaomi Pengcheng is currently the most affordable model in Xiaomi’s lineup. It is priced below the previously launched Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7, which start at RMB 219,900 and RMB 233,500, respectively.
According to Xiaomi, the Pengcheng is not simply designed as a family car, business vehicle or camping vehicle. Instead, its design concept is that of a “house on wheels," with the interior and exterior space capable of being flexibly reconfigured to accommodate different usage scenarios.
Xiaomi Group Chairman Lei Jun previously explained the rationale behind developing the Pengcheng, saying that an increasing number of car buyers are concerned not only with whether a vehicle has enough space or comfortable seats, but also with whether they can truly feel at ease when spending time inside the vehicle.
Xiaomi’s answer is to “define space through intelligence" and create a “living space." The company believes that the space inside a vehicle should not be fixed, but should be able to change freely according to the user’s needs and preferences.
Lei Jun said that to achieve this goal, Xiaomi began developing an entirely new platform architecture from scratch in early 2023 — the Xiaomi Kunlun Architecture. With an SUV body style, a flat floor and long sliding rails enable the Pengcheng to intelligently switch between different interior space configurations.
Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Series Overview
The newly launched Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 is a midsize-to-large five-seat extended-range SUV measuring approximately 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width, with a wheelbase of around 3 meters. The vehicle adopts Xiaomi’s family design language and features dragonfly headlights, halo-shaped taillights, frameless exterior mirrors and a pebble-shaped LiDAR sensor.
The N70 features a 2.58-meter-long flat floor with a floor inclination of just 2.95 degrees. Its boxy cabin layout provides a maximum usable area of 4.01 square meters. Five ultra-long sliding rails are integrated into the cabin, with the longest measuring 1.56 meters. The second-row seats offer 600 mm of fore-and-aft adjustment, allowing the interior space to be freely configured according to different needs.
In terms of powertrain, the Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Pro features front-wheel drive, with a peak output of 210 kW, a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h. It is equipped with a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a CLTC pure-electric range of 351 km and a CLTC combined range of up to 1,351 km.
The Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Max features dual-motor all-wheel drive, delivering a peak output of 310 kW. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 190 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with a 76 kWh ternary lithium battery, offering a CLTC pure-electric range of 505 km and a CLTC combined range of 1,461 km.
The N70 is available in six exterior colors, including Butterfly Valley Blue, Distant Mountain Green and Pearl White. Three interior colors are offered: Sand Pottery Beige, Mocha Brown and Midnight Black.
Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max Series Overview
The Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max is a flagship seven-seat extended-range SUV with dimensions comparable to mainstream flagship “9-series" SUVs. It measures 5.28 meters in length. The vehicle is available in seven exterior colors, including Distant Mountain Green, Butterfly Valley Blue, Volcanic Gray, Cool Khaki, Pearl White and Obsidian Black, as well as an exclusive Burgundy color.
The N90 Max is powered by dual motors with all-wheel drive, producing 310 kW and enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. Its top speed is 190 km/h. The vehicle combines a 76 kWh ternary lithium battery with Xiaomi’s Kunlun 1.5T range extender. It offers a CLTC pure-electric range of up to 464 km and a CLTC combined range of up to 1,705 km, while its WLTC fuel consumption with a depleted battery is rated at 6.26 L/100 km.
In real-world testing on the Shanghai-to-Beijing route, the N90 Max carried four occupants and 50 kg of equipment. Starting with a full battery and a full tank of fuel, the vehicle traveled 1,230 km at an average speed of 104 km/h and still had 54 km of range remaining upon arrival. It covered 323.6 km using electric power alone, with energy consumption of 19.7 kWh/100 km and average highway fuel consumption of 6.7 L/100 km with a depleted battery.
The Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max Explorer Edition is based on the N90 Max and is distinguished primarily by its electrically powered, height-adjustable roof module, which Xiaomi describes as the only factory-integrated electric lifting roof of its kind currently available on an SUV in China.
According to Xiaomi, the goal was to open up the vehicle’s vertical interior space while minimizing the impact on its overall styling, ground clearance and driving performance. The roof module increases the vehicle’s height by only 100 mm and features a body-colored design that blends seamlessly with the rest of the vehicle. Xiaomi also optimized airflow over the roof, achieving a drag coefficient of Cd 0.245.
When the roof is raised, the cabin transforms into a “two-level loft space." The upper-level area measures 2,110 mm * 985 mm and has a maximum evenly distributed load capacity of 200 kg.
It should be noted that the lifting function of the N90 Max Explorer Edition can only be used while the vehicle is parked and on non-public roads. The roof system also features emergency waterproofing, resistance to Level 7 winds and protection designed to meet lightning safety requirements. Xiaomi says these features provide additional safety margins for extreme scenarios and does not recommend using the raised-roof function in severe weather.
According to the latest figures, Xiaomi’s cumulative vehicle deliveries have surpassed 800,000 units. In 2026, Xiaomi is targeting annual deliveries of 550,000 vehicles. From January through August, Xiaomi delivered more than 240,000 vehicles, with monthly deliveries exceeding 30,000 units for five consecutive months.
