On August 28, FAW-Volkswagen held the pre-sale launch event for the ID. AURA T6 in Hangzhou. The new model is available in four variants: 540 Pro, 660 Pro, 660 Max LiDAR Edition, and 660 Ultra LiDAR Edition, offering different options for family users. Pre-sale prices range from RMB 135,900 to RMB 169,900.
The ID. AURA T6 also comes with exclusive pre-sale benefits worth more than RMB 21,000. For a limited time, Pro variants receive complimentary seat heating and ventilation valued at RMB 3,000. The 660 Max LiDAR Edition includes the AURA SOUND immersive audio system with Dolby Atmos, valued at RMB 4,000, as well as the popular Mountain Green exterior paint and Honey Orange interior.
Customers trading in an existing vehicle can receive a subsidy of up to RMB 10,000.
The new model also introduces a comprehensive ownership program built around “3 Lifetime Benefits, 4 Responsibility Commitments, and 3 Free Services."
The “3 Lifetime Benefits" include lifetime warranties for the vehicle and its three core electric systems, genuine replacement parts, and complimentary roadside assistance.

Powered by a 4-nanometer automotive-grade chip, the system delivers strong computing performance for smooth multitasking, responsive voice interaction, and seamless app switching.
The new model integrates multimodal interaction through voice, touch, and visual recognition. It supports continuous four-zone voice recognition across nine major Chinese dialect groups, allowing occupants in different seats to issue commands simultaneously without interference.
It is also equipped with features such as an AI vehicle assistant and AI travel assistant, enabling functions including roadside scenery recognition and parking memory. On the hardware side, the ID. AURA T6 is equipped with the Horizon Robotics Journey 6H intelligent driving chip, delivering up to 420 TOPS of computing power, with system response latency of less than 160 milliseconds.
For perception, the vehicle features a high-performance 192-line LiDAR system combined with multiple types of sensors to provide 720-degree environmental perception. Even in low-visibility nighttime conditions, the system can accurately detect long-distance obstacles, providing a strong hardware foundation and additional safety redundancy for intelligent driving assistance.
The ID. AURA T6 adopts the CoreCheng HS8 one-stage end-to-end intelligent driving assistance solution, developed specifically for the complex road conditions and diverse traffic scenarios commonly encountered by Chinese users. It supports navigation-assisted driving on both urban roads and highways, including automatic car-following and lane changes, while handling challenging situations such as vehicle encounters on narrow roads and mixed pedestrian-vehicle traffic with greater ease.
The vehicle is also equipped with an AVM surround-view imaging system and parking radars, supporting practical functions such as parking assistance, remote parking assistance, and roaming parking. These features significantly reduce the difficulty and effort involved in parking while further improving the convenience and safety of intelligent mobility.
Building on FAW-Volkswagen’s extensive chassis-tuning expertise, the ID. AURA T6 features the Xingyun Chassis System, combining a MacPherson strut front suspension with a five-link independent rear suspension.
Together with the FSO variable damping system and dedicated tuning for Chinese road conditions, the chassis balances responsive handling and body support with effective vibration isolation and ride comfort.
The vehicle achieves a class-leading minimum turning radius of just 4.75 meters, making U-turns and maneuvering on narrow roads more flexible. Its 255 mm front and 265 mm rear tires are among the widest in its class. Combined with a near-50:50 weight distribution and a front stabilizer bar, they help deliver greater stability through corners.
The ID. AURA T6 has also been specifically tuned to reduce motion sickness during all-electric driving. Optimized regenerative braking logic and smoother power delivery help minimize discomfort for occupants.
Front and rear disc brakes are standard across the lineup, paired with an integrated One-Box braking system to provide a linear pedal feel and consistent, reliable braking performance.
In terms of driving range, the ID. AURA T6 is available with two CLTC range options of 540 km and 660 km. With fast-charging capability, charging from 30% to 80% takes just 22–24 minutes, meeting the needs of both daily commuting and long-distance travel.
The vehicle also continues FAW-Volkswagen’s rigorous pursuit of safety and durability. Its power battery has undergone more than 400 high-standard tests, with the total number of tests reaching eight times the requirements of China’s national standard. This extensive validation is designed to ensure safety and reliability throughout the vehicle’s entire lifecycle, carrying German quality standards into the new-energy era.
