- Volkswagen Anhui has officially rolled out its 100,000th intelligent electric vehicle, marking a new stage in its product portfolio, large-scale manufacturing capabilities and market deliveries.
- The company now offers a diversified lineup including the CUPRA Tavascan, ID. UNYX 06, ID. UNYX 07 and ID. UNYX 08. A fourth all-new model, the ID. UNYX 09, will join the lineup later this year.

Hefei, China, August 18, 2026 – Volkswagen Anhui today celebrated another major milestone as its 100,000th intelligent electric vehicle officially rolled off the production line. More than 200 guests, including government officials, business partners, media representatives and employees, gathered at the company's Hefei manufacturing facility to witness the occasion.
The achievement represents a significant step forward for Volkswagen Anhui's manufacturing scale, product portfolio and intelligent electric mobility strategy, highlighting the company's steady growth and long-term commitment to the smart connected EV market.
The milestone vehicle, an ID. UNYX 08, emerged through a ceremonial light tunnel before being officially delivered to its owner by Marcus Hafkemeyer, Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Anhui, and Liu Zhanshu, Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Anhui Digital Sales & Service Co., Ltd.
"One hundred thousand vehicles represent far more than a production milestone—it reflects the trust of 100,000 customers and families," said Marcus Hafkemeyer, CEO of Volkswagen Anhui. Since exporting its first model, the CUPRA Tavascan, in 2024, Volkswagen Anhui has steadily expanded its manufacturing capacity and product lineup. In the first half of 2026 alone, the company successfully launched three new models.
Today, Volkswagen Anhui offers two product series—CUPRA and ID. UNYX—covering the CUPRA Tavascan, ID. UNYX 06, ID. UNYX 07, and ID. UNYX 08.
Later this year, the all-new ID. UNYX 09, which completed China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing in mid-July, will further strengthen the company's intelligent EV portfolio.
Developed as Volkswagen Anhui's next-generation intelligent connected EV brand, the ID. UNYX series combines Volkswagen's renowned German engineering with China's rapidly evolving innovation ecosystem.
While maintaining Volkswagen's globally recognized standards for safety, quality and reliability, the lineup also incorporates locally developed intelligent technologies and vehicle architectures tailored specifically for Chinese consumers.
The ID. UNYX 08 was jointly developed by Volkswagen and XPENG, while the ID. UNYX 06 and ID. UNYX 07 are built on Volkswagen's latest self-developed China Electronic Architecture (CEA).
Across the lineup, vehicles feature advanced localized technologies such as the Xingyun Intelligent Driving Systemand the Yunqi Intelligent Cockpit, delivering intelligent driving capabilities and spacious, comfortable interiors designed to meet the evolving expectations of Chinese customers.
Volkswagen Anhui continues to execute its dual-engine growth strategy by accelerating production and deliveries for the Chinese market while leveraging Hefei's rapidly developing NEV supply chain and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem to support Volkswagen Group's global production network.
The company has established an integrated operating system in Hefei covering research and development, vehicle testing, intelligent manufacturing, sales and customer service.
