On September 12, Volkswagen Anhui officially launched the ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition alongside a refreshed lineup, introducing five variants in total. The ID. UNYX 08 Pure is available at a limited-time promotional price starting from RMB 189,900, while the Ultra Plus and Max Plus are priced at RMB 219,900 and RMB 249,900 respectively. The highly anticipated rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive Shadow Edition models are offered at limited-time prices of RMB 219,900 and RMB 249,900 respectively.

The ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition redefines personalized automotive design with its distinctive Shadow styling.
Its exterior adopts short front overhangs and long rear proportions. With an overall length of approximately five meters and a wheelbase exceeding three meters, the vehicle also offers generous interior space.
Exclusive exterior styling is complemented by 21-inch high-performance sports wheels, creating a powerful and dynamic visual presence. An innovative integrated wolf-head high-mounted brake light incorporates a symbolic design element, while crystal laser-engraved interactive lighting adds a strong sense of technology and visual drama.
Inside, the ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition combines premium materials with minimalist design. The upper dashboard speaker trim, ambient lighting strips, steering-wheel rollers, and window control switches feature black chrome finishes.
Orange stitching is used across the seats and steering wheel, while high-visibility orange seat belts provide further contrast. The combination of matte black surfaces and bright orange accents creates a sporty and energetic atmosphere.
In intelligent assisted driving, the ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition debuts Volkswagen Anhui’s latest VLA 2.0 assisted-driving model and comes standard with dual Turing AI chips delivering up to 1,500 TOPS of computing power.
The model is designed to reproduce human-like perception capabilities, advancing from simply “imitating driving" toward a deeper “understanding of the world." According to the company, decision-making efficiency has been improved by 2.5 times.
Its map-free NOA roaming function supports activation from a standstill. Whether navigating complex urban villages without high-definition map coverage, dimly lit tunnels, or underground parking facilities, the vehicle can rely on visual perception to identify exits and smoothly avoid obstacles.
The intelligent cockpit has also been upgraded with the new VW OS 2.2 system.
Its redesigned HMI supports a customizable integrated desktop as well as quick left- and right-swipe controls, providing greater flexibility and convenience.
The system also introduces lane-level navigation with enhanced perception, integrating 3D assisted-driving visualization with navigation maps to create a more intuitive and immersive interface.
In addition, the infotainment system debuts support for 50 WeChat Mini Programs, allowing users to access music, video streaming, food ordering, online meetings, and other functions without downloading separate apps.
To further enhance family travel, the cabin includes a premium front passenger seat and dual foldable rear tables. The vehicle is also equipped with a large-capacity heating and cooling refrigerator featuring ultraviolet sterilization, which can remain powered for up to 24 hours after occupants leave the vehicle.
In terms of chassis performance and handling, the ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition features a high-end hardware setup and sophisticated tuning.
The vehicle comes standard with WABCO dual-chamber air suspension and ZF DCC dynamic damping control, combined with an AI-powered predictive chassis system to improve ride comfort and road-surface adaptation.
For braking performance, the vehicle is equipped with Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, which Volkswagen Anhui says can withstand ten consecutive emergency braking events without significant thermal fade.
Paired with customized fifth-generation Pirelli P ZERO performance tires, the vehicle achieves a dry braking distance of just 35.3 meters from 100 km/h.
The Shadow Edition also delivers strong electric performance. The all-wheel-drive version is equipped with an 800V dual-motor system and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
All variants use high-quality CATL battery cells, offering a maximum CLTC range of up to 730 kilometers.
With 800V ultra-fast charging technology, the vehicle can recover enough energy for approximately 150 kilometers of driving in just five minutes of charging.
Whether accelerating in a straight line, tackling consecutive high-speed bends, or driving through demanding conditions such as muddy or water-covered roads, the ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition is designed to combine strong power delivery with stable body control, delivering the driving character associated with German engineering.
The model also inherits Volkswagen’s long-established vehicle engineering DNA and follows the brand’s rigorous “Golden Standards" for safety, quality, and reliability.
The ID. UNYX 08 Shadow Edition adopts a high-strength cage-style body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for 80 percent of the body.
It has undergone extensive testing in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C, with total validation mileage reaching 3.5 million kilometers. According to Volkswagen Anhui, the vehicle has exceeded national standards in areas including road durability, corrosion resistance, and airbag durability testing.
