On June 25, 2026, Leapmotor officially launched the Leapmotor D99, the first MPV built on its flagship D Platform. The new model is priced from RMB 249,800 to RMB 319,800. For a limited time, customers can enjoy launch benefits worth up to RMB 61,279, along with four lifetime complimentary warranty programs and a range of premium services.
As a flagship product embodying Leapmotor’s decade-long accumulation of full-stack in-house R&D capabilities, the D99 is positioned as a “technology-luxury flagship MPV." It carries forward the D Series philosophy of delivering “million-yuan-class experiences through accessible technology." At a price point of around RMB 300,000, it offers a comprehensive flagship experience across six dimensions: comfort, range, intelligence, driving dynamics, safety and design, setting a new benchmark for value in the mid-to-large MPV segment.
At the launch event, Mr. Cao Li, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor Technology, provided a comprehensive introduction to the six distinctive flagship product strengths of the D99 and officially announced its pricing and launch benefits.
As Leapmotor’s second flagship model following the D19, the D99 completes the company’s product portfolio in the premium MPV market. Together, the two models form a dual-flagship lineup comprising a flagship SUV and a flagship MPV, marking a new stage in Leapmotor’s brand advancement and its mission to make cutting-edge technology more widely accessible.
Designed as a flagship MPV for large families and business travel, the Leapmotor D99 maximizes both space utilization and passenger comfort. With a cabin space utilization rate of 91.3%, it provides a spacious and relaxing environment for every occupant.
The D99 features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. The second row is equipped with two true zero-gravity rotating airline-style seats that support a 45-degree welcome position, a 90-degree scenic-view position and a 180-degree face-to-face meeting configuration.
The second-row seats also feature four-way electrically adjustable leg rests, powered footrests, ten-point full-body massage, three-dimensional surround heating, ventilation for both the seat cushions and backrests, and four-way lumbar support. Fully padded armrests and floating tables on both sides allow the cabin to transition effortlessly between work, meetings and relaxation.
The third-row seats support heating and electric adjustment of the backrests and headrests. They are also equipped with individual armrests and a dedicated control panel. An industry-first MAX panoramic opening sunroof provides a total light-transmitting area of 1.46 square meters and an openable area of 0.66 square meters, giving third-row passengers abundant natural light and an exceptionally comfortable riding experience.
In terms of flexibility, the cabin supports more than 11 seating configurations and five bed configurations. By linking the second- and third-row seats, users can create a nearly 2.5-meter-long fully flat bed, suitable for overnight camping, midday naps and parent-child relaxation.
The vehicle provides 43 categorized storage spaces. Even with all seven seats occupied, the luggage compartment offers a standard capacity of 706 liters, sufficient for ten standard suitcases. With the third-row seats folded, cargo capacity expands to 2,890 liters, easily accommodating camping equipment, sports gear and oversized luggage.
The third-row seats can also be electrically folded by 90 degrees to create a scenic-view seating area rarely found in the MPV segment. Whether fishing, enjoying a seaside view or camping, users can enjoy a comfortable outdoor leisure seat without carrying additional folding chairs.
The D99 is comprehensively equipped for comfort. It features 11 pieces of 5-mm laminated acoustic glass, more than 130 acoustic insulation components and Michelin low-noise tires. Dedicated noise-reduction optimization creates a first-class-cabin level of quietness.
The vehicle also debuts an automotive-grade Forest Oxygen Cabin, offering an oxygen output of 8 liters per minute through both diffused and nasal oxygen-delivery modes. The system helps alleviate fatigue during long journeys and discomfort caused by high-altitude environments.
An 11.4-liter fully electric automotive-grade refrigerator supports temperature adjustment from minus 6 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius and can be controlled remotely through voice commands or the Leapmotor app.
An intelligent fragrance system offers three curated fragrance profiles. Combined with a 23-speaker, 2,304-watt Dolby Atmos sound system and 16-million-color wraparound ambient lighting, the D99 delivers a comprehensive luxury experience encompassing sound, scent and physical comfort.
Access to the vehicle has also been specially optimized. The second-row door opening measures 892 mm in height and 720 mm in width. With the air suspension lowering the vehicle body, the entry step can be reduced to just 372 mm.
The second-row seats support a 45-degree rotating welcome mode, while extended armrests, illuminated entry steps and powered sliding-door controls make it easier for elderly passengers and children to enter and exit the vehicle, creating a refined flagship welcome experience.
To meet the evolving design preferences of consumers born in the 1980s and 1990s, the Leapmotor D99 adopts the “Tech-Nature Aesthetics 2.0" design philosophy.
Inspired by the aerodynamic profile of Gulfstream business jets, the exterior combines a commanding presence with sophisticated detailing. It is equally suitable for professional business occasions and family use, while reflecting the aesthetic preferences of a younger generation.
The front features the “Realm of the Cosmos" design theme. Along the sides, a stratosphere-inspired flush-window design creates a completely smooth surface with virtually no height difference, delivering craftsmanship comparable to million-yuan luxury vehicles while effectively reducing wind resistance and wind noise.
High-gloss silver chrome trim is paired with an “Obsidian Crown" contrasting roof and 19-inch “Realm of Aspiration" Michelin wheels, highlighting the vehicle’s luxury through carefully considered details.
The D99 is available in five exterior colors: Celestial Blue, Photoelectric White, Liquid Silver, Canopy Grey and Metallic Black. Each finish offers exceptional depth, clarity and lasting visual appeal.
Inspired by the Eastern tradition of welcoming family members home, the interior adopts a double-layer wraparound cockpit design. V-pattern eucalyptus wood-grain trim, a velvet headliner and French diamond-quilted seats create a warm, elegant and luxurious atmosphere.
An industry-first 3.9-meter “Reunion" wraparound ambient-lighting system is combined with aviation-grade 360-degree rotating reading lights to create an immersive lighting environment.
Four low-saturation interior color schemes are available: Mist Grey, Danya Brown, Rain-Cleared Grey and Obsidian Black.
The cabin features 29 square meters of soft-touch materials. All frequently touched areas in the first and second rows are upholstered in full-grain, semi-aniline first-layer genuine leather certified to both Leather Working Group Gold and OEKO-TEX standards, providing a refined feel while meeting stringent environmental requirements.
The Leapmotor D99 is available with both range-extended electric and battery-electric powertrains.
The range-extended version is equipped with an 80.3-kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery specifically developed for range-extended vehicles. It offers a CLTC electric-only range of up to 480 km, making it the range-extended MPV with the longest electric-only range in the world.
This allows most daily travel to be completed entirely on electric power, while the range extender eliminates concerns during long-distance journeys.
The D99 is also the first range-extended MPV in the industry to feature CTC battery-chassis integration technology. Combined with an 800-volt high-voltage fast-charging platform, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes.
The battery-electric version features CATL’s globally debuted molecular-level fusion ultra-hybrid battery cells. With a battery capacity of 115 kWh, it delivers a CLTC range of 700 km.
Its full-stack 1,000-volt high-voltage architecture supports a peak charging power of more than 460 kW, enabling the vehicle to recover over 350 km of driving range after just 15 minutes of charging.
The Leapmotor D99 is the first vehicle in the industry to feature two Qualcomm 8797 central domain-control chips.
Built using a 4-nanometer manufacturing process, the chips provide a combined computing capacity of 1,280 TOPS. They support a highly coordinated integrated architecture covering both the intelligent cockpit and driver-assistance systems, while providing sufficient computing headroom for intelligent upgrades over the next five years.
The intelligent cockpit is powered by an on-device multimodal AI foundation model. A five-screen, three-dimensional spatial interaction system creates an all-scenario digital environment comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central display, a 50-inch augmented-reality head-up display, a 6-inch rear control screen and a 21.4-inch 3K rear entertainment screen with electric adjustment from 90 to 110 degrees.
The Leapmotor OS interaction system has received seven major international design awards. It supports independent voice recognition across six audio zones, mixed use of 13 Chinese dialects and wake-word-free vehicle controls for the driver.
Passengers seated in different areas of the cabin can issue commands simultaneously without interfering with one another.
The system also supports functions such as ordering coffee by voice, paying parking fees and completing seamless voice-authorized payments, transforming the vehicle into an AI family assistant that understands its users.
For intelligent driving, the D99 employs a VLA, or vision-language-action, foundation model to provide full-scenario navigation-assisted driving.
Working with 28 high-precision perception devices, including LiDAR, the system supports 44 active driving functions and provides end-to-end navigation assistance from one parking space to another. It covers parking-garage navigation, access-gate passage, urban roads, highway navigation and automated parking at the destination.
The system also features defensive-driving capabilities. It can identify risks such as abnormal deceleration by surrounding vehicles, vehicles merging from blind spots, narrow roads at night and construction obstacles in advance, automatically adjusting speed and reserving additional safety space.
Additional functions include 120-meter route-tracing reverse assistance, all-angle automated parking, smartphone remote parking and multi-level memory parking, significantly reducing the driver’s workload.
All versions are equipped as standard with blue driver-assistance indicator lights, clearly communicating the vehicle’s operating status to other road users and improving safety during human-machine cooperative driving.
Safety forms the foundation of the Leapmotor D99. Developed in strict accordance with C-NCAP five-star safety standards, the vehicle creates a comprehensive mobile safety fortress across four dimensions: passive protection, active safety, battery safety and occupant health.
The body structure features 12 crossmembers, five longitudinal members and four reinforced ring structures. High-strength steel and aluminum alloy account for as much as 81% of the body, while torsional rigidity reaches 46,682 N·m per degree.
The D99 is equipped with a class-leading 11-airbag system and true full-length curtain airbags measuring more than 2.9 meters. Extending from the A-pillars to the D-pillars, they provide equal protection for every passenger.
An active AEB emergency-braking system is standard across the lineup and is optimized for both congested urban traffic and highway conditions. Active AES emergency steering further improves the vehicle’s ability to avoid sudden hazards at high speeds.
An AI-powered adaptive driving mode can seamlessly switch power-delivery modes within 500 milliseconds according to road conditions, providing immediate assistance during critical avoidance maneuvers.
A ten-layer aerospace-grade battery-protection system can withstand temperatures exceeding 1,300 degrees Celsius. It is designed to prevent fire or explosion for at least 72 hours following thermal runaway.
The AIBMS adaptive battery-management system can predict potential battery risks up to 30 days in advance, while a 1,000-volt intelligent safety control center provides millisecond-level short-circuit protection.
The D99 has also received the “Zero-Formaldehyde Vehicle" certification and a five-star electric-vehicle fire-safety rating from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.
Environmentally friendly cabin materials and tea-polyphenol-treated genuine leather are combined with a negative-ion air-purification system to protect the respiratory health of all occupants.
Based on the philosophy that “true luxury requires all-wheel drive," the Leapmotor D99’s chassis has been meticulously tuned by professional engineering teams in China and Europe.
All versions are equipped with all-wheel drive as standard, along with a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension system.
Konghui dual-chamber closed-type air suspension and variable-damping shock absorbers provide 95 mm of suspension adjustment, balancing comfort and capability across a wide variety of complex road conditions.
The industry-leading LMC 2.0 integrated chassis motion-control system gives the chassis the ability to “think proactively."
A predictive magic-carpet function scans the road surface ahead in real time and adjusts suspension damping in advance, reducing the impact of potholes and speed bumps.
High-speed pre-stabilization and anti-slip control on wet roads allow the system to quickly correct the vehicle’s posture under extreme conditions, minimizing understeer and loss of traction.
A one-touch leveling function automatically levels the vehicle when parked on a slope, making it particularly useful for camping and other outdoor activities.
A high-speed dual-wheel blowout stability-control system can identify a tire blowout and correct the vehicle’s posture within 200 milliseconds, providing enhanced safety in emergencies.
An intelligent motion-sickness prevention function coordinates multiple vehicle-control domains to reduce the risk of passenger discomfort and improve ride quality across all three rows.
For braking and handling, the D99 is equipped with an MKC2 brake-by-wire system and four-piston fixed front brake calipers. Combined with Michelin Primacy 5E high-performance tires, the vehicle can brake from 100 km/h to a standstill in just 37.5 meters.
A turning radius of 6.1 meters, together with an agile U-turn function, allows the large MPV to move flexibly through narrow urban streets.
From the D19 full-size flagship SUV to the D99 technology-luxury flagship MPV, Leapmotor’s D Platform draws upon the company’s comprehensive in-house R&D capabilities to bring million-yuan-class flagship experiences into the RMB 300,000 price segment.
