On July 16, the “Chengdu Products Going Global · Made in Shuangliu Global Tour" Russia Economic and Trade Matchmaking Event was held in Moscow. The event was hosted by the Shuangliu District People’s Government and organized by the Shuangliu District Bureau of Commerce, resulting in trade cooperation orders worth approximately RMB 120 million.
The event opened with remarks from representatives of both sides. In its address, the Shuangliu District Government stated that the district remains committed to open and win-win development. Leveraging its three core strengths—its role as an open gateway and transportation hub, its advanced manufacturing capabilities, and its well-developed cross-border trade ecosystem—Shuangliu looks forward to working with Russian government and business partners to explore greater cooperation opportunities in automobiles and auto parts, industrial intermediate goods, home furnishings, women’s footwear, and other sectors, while establishing a long-term and stable mechanism for cross-border economic and trade cooperation.
Dmitry Sergeyevich Staroskin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation, said that the region is willing to cooperate with Shuangliu in areas including trade, investment, science, and culture. He expressed hope that the event would serve as an opportunity to open a new chapter of long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides.
Dmitry Korosov, Vice President of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, said he hoped the matchmaking event would help remove barriers to regional trade and commerce, facilitate the two-way flow of goods, capital, and services, and deepen practical economic and trade cooperation between the two regions.
During the thematic promotion session, the Administrative Committee of Chengdu Shuangliu Economic Development Zone presented the zone’s investment value across four key dimensions: its aviation hub, open platforms, scientific and technological innovation resources, and comprehensive industrial foundation.
The Shuangliu District Bureau of Commerce highlighted competitive “Made in Shuangliu" products in sectors including electronic information, biomedicine, aviation, and aerospace. It also showcased the export strengths of Shuangliu’s distinctive industrial clusters, including used vehicles, footwear, and quality home furnishings, demonstrating the district’s strong capacity to supply products tailored to the needs of the Russian market.
At the event, the China (Sichuan · Shuangliu) Used Car Export Base made its first appearance in Russia. As Sichuan Province’s only specialized public service platform dedicated to used-car exports, the base was represented by Wang Xiangyu, General Manager of Yiwei New Energy (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd., who presented the company’s end-to-end cross-border vehicle delivery solutions.
During the visit, the base also established three major overseas support facilities. In partnership with the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Lotus Automobile LLC, and Luban Automobile Service Co., Ltd., it inaugurated an Overseas Integrated Service Station, an Overseas Warehousing Center, and an Overseas After-Sales Service Center for the used-car export base.
Together, these facilities form an integrated “service + warehousing + after-sales" support system for automotive trade with Russia. The new system addresses key gaps in cross-border used-car trade, including warehousing, maintenance and repair, and localized customer services, while establishing a comprehensive service chain for Sichuan’s used-car exports to Russia.
According to a representative of the Shuangliu District Bureau of Commerce, the Moscow economic and trade matchmaking event represents a key step in Shuangliu’s efforts to deepen its presence in the Russian market and implement the broader “Chengdu Products Going Global" initiative. The event delivered multiple achievements in one move, including international brand expansion, sales channel development, trade order fulfillment, and the establishment of an overseas service network. It also provides a model for cross-border cooperation featuring stronger integration between industry and trade, government-enterprise collaboration, and industrial synergy.
Going forward, Shuangliu District will build on the momentum of this event to further expand its presence in Eurasian markets. The district will improve supporting policies covering the entire cross-border trade value chain and optimize services for enterprises seeking to expand internationally.
Shuangliu will also continue to replicate its overseas warehousing and service-station model, strengthen the large-scale export of competitive products in sectors such as used vehicles, light-industry home furnishings, and high-end intelligent manufacturing, and regularly organize cross-border economic and trade matchmaking events.
By establishing a long-term communication platform between Chinese and Russian government and business communities and leveraging its aviation hub advantages to strengthen Eurasian trade corridors, Shuangliu aims to advance the high-quality development of its export-oriented economy through multi-level and results-driven cross-border cooperation.
