On September 20, FAW-Volkswagen held the official launch event for the ID. AURA T6 in Guangzhou. Positioned as a “smart and stable all-electric SUV for the whole family," the new model is available in four variants: 540 Pro, 660 Pro, 660 Max LiDAR Edition, and 660 Ultra LiDAR Edition.
The lineup covers a wide range of choices, from well-equipped family-oriented versions to fully equipped flagship variants, meeting the diverse needs of different households. Prices range from RMB 129,900 to RMB 166,900, while pre-sale orders have already exceeded 30,000 units.

The ID. AURA T6 measures 4,811 mm in length, 1,879 mm in width, and 1,648 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,836 mm.
Guided by the design philosophy of “Practical Naturalism," the vehicle achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.245 without compromising interior passenger space, delivering an impressive space utilization rate of 85.3%.
A total of 38 storage compartments are provided throughout the vehicle, along with a front trunk offered for the first time, meeting a wide range of storage needs.
The second-row door opening measures 881 mm, the largest in its class, making entry and exit easier and more convenient whether for elderly family members or parents carrying children.

Built on Horizon Robotics’ HSD AI foundation model, it adopts the CoreCheng HS8 one-stage end-to-end driving assistance solution, specifically developed for the complex road conditions and diverse traffic scenarios commonly encountered by Chinese users.
Combined with a high-performance 192-line LiDAR system and multiple types of sensors, the vehicle delivers 720-degree environmental perception, providing intelligent driving assistance performance positioned among the industry’s leading tier.
The new model offers seamless point-to-point assisted driving across a wide range of scenarios, supporting navigation-assisted driving in both urban and highway environments as well as intelligent parking assistance. It can handle situations such as car-following, lane changes, narrow-road vehicle encounters, and mixed pedestrian-vehicle traffic with greater ease, making every journey more relaxed and effortless.
Built on Proven Engineering for Confidence on Every Journey
The ID. AURA T6 is equipped with a CATL power battery and offers a maximum CLTC range of up to 660 km. Combined with a highly integrated nine-in-one electric drive system and a nine-source heat-pump air-conditioning system, energy consumption can be as low as 12.5 kWh per 100 km, balancing efficiency with strong adaptability in low-temperature conditions.
For battery safety, the system has undergone more than 400 tests—approximately eight times the number required under China’s national standards—covering a wide range of extreme conditions. This comprehensive validation provides multi-level protection from individual battery cells to the complete battery pack, strengthening the safety of the vehicle’s core electric systems.
The ID. AURA T6 features the Xingyun Chassis System, combining a MacPherson strut front suspension with a five-link independent rear suspension and an FSO variable damping system. Building on FAW-Volkswagen’s German chassis-tuning expertise, the system has been specifically calibrated for Chinese road conditions to balance responsive handling and body support with effective vibration isolation and ride comfort.
With a class-leading minimum turning radius of just 4.75 meters, the vehicle offers greater agility when making U-turns or maneuvering on narrow roads. Its 255 mm front and 265 mm rear tires are among the widest in its class. Combined with a near-50:50 weight distribution and a class-exclusive front stabilizer bar, they help maintain a more stable and composed body posture through corners.
To address motion sickness that can occur in electric vehicles, the ID. AURA T6 also introduces a dedicated Intelligent Anti-Motion-Sickness Mode. By optimizing regenerative braking logic and smoothing power delivery, the system helps reduce passenger discomfort and improves comfort for the whole family on long-distance journeys.
The vehicle also adopts a high-strength steel cage safety structure, with ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel applied at critical points. A load-bearing framework consisting of nine transverse and four longitudinal structural members further reinforces the body.
FAW-Volkswagen has also maintained its emphasis on extensive real-world vehicle tuning and validation. The ID. AURA T6 has undergone a range of dedicated crash tests that either go beyond conventional industry requirements or are unique to its validation program, including a 65 km/h frontal pole impact test and a 45 km/h side pole impact test.
